ABOUT
ASCENT COACHING & CONSULTING
...I'm ALLEN L. ABBOTT, MS MBA
Hi, I'm Allen. Here's the thing behind the thing - I am not in the business of Coaching or Consulting. My work is dedicated to helping ambitious people stop running on fumes and start leading with clarity, confidence, and balance. We all know "smarter not harder" but what steps do you take to turn that phrase into action? Well that is what we specialize in!
My work is most rewarding when...
-
An executive realizes they don't have to - nor should they - grind themselves into the ground to succeed.
-
Seeing someone break free from the trap of overwork and actually enjoy their lives they have worked to build.
-
Helping people get off of the "more is better" treadmill. Data tells us this is a fool's errand.
In founding Ascent, Allen draws on his passion for empowering leaders and teams to reach their highest potential. His holistic approach is built on the belief that effective leadership emerges from a combination of structured, data-driven strategies and a deep commitment to personal growth and development. When the two are in balance, work can actually become easier over time.
He works closely with executives, teams, and organizations to foster strong communication, develop strategic foresight, and cultivate a collaborative culture where creativity and problem-solving thrive.
Allen holds a BA in Psychology from Rockhurst University, an MBA from the University of Missouri – Kansas City’s Henry Bloch School of Management, and an MS in Organizational Development from the University of Texas at Dallas. His credentials also include certifications in Gallup CliftonStrengths, Disciplined Agile Scrum Master (DASM), and HR Management, as well as Executive and Professional Coaching.

About Me.
Hi, I’m Allen! A lifelong learner, leadership coach, and strategist who believes that great leadership isn’t just about what you achieve—it’s about how you grow, how you inspire, and how you make work (and life) more meaningful.
My journey has taken me through psychology, organizational development, executive leadership, and strategic consulting, each chapter adding to my understanding of what it takes to lead effectively.
With over 20 years of experience in business leadership, training, and process optimization, I’ve helped organizations and individuals navigate complex challenges, build strong teams, and drive meaningful change. Today, I bring all of those insights together in my coaching and consulting work—blending psychology, strategy, and real-world leadership experience to help executives and teams thrive.
When I’m not coaching, you’ll probably find me tending to my indoor hydroponic garden, exploring the great outdoors, or testing out my old legs on my road bike, Darth Velo.

Key Certifications

CERTIFIED CLIFTONSTRENGTHS COACH - Gallup
CliftonStrengths is a game-changer in coaching because it shifts the focus from fixing weaknesses to maximizing strengths. Rather than a one-size-fits-all leadership model, it provides a deeply personalized roadmap for growth based on what you naturally do best. By identifying and harnessing core talents, leaders gain greater self-awareness, make more aligned decisions, and build high-performing teams with complementary strengths.

EXECUTIVE COACHING CERTIFICATION - Univerisity of Texas at Dallas
The ACTP-certified Coaching Program from the University of Texas at Dallas is one of the most rigorous and respected coaching certifications available. As an Accredited Coach Training Program (ACTP) under the International Coaching Federation (ICF), it meets the highest industry standards for professional coaching. This certification emphasizes evidence-based coaching methodologies, ethical practice, and real-world application, equipping coaches to facilitate meaningful growth.

360 ASSESSMENT CERTIFIED - Center for Creative Leadership
The 360 Benchmark Certification from the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL) is a powerful tool for leadership development, providing deep insights into a leader’s strengths, blind spots, and growth opportunities. This certification equips me with the expertise to administer and interpret CCL’s industry-leading 360-degree assessments, helping leaders gain a well-rounded perspective on their impact. By leveraging this data-driven approach, I guide executives in identifying key leadership behaviors, improving team dynamics, and driving meaningful, long-term change.
